Lunar Cycle
This installation won the “La Foglia d’Oro del Lago di Como” award in 2017, an international competition organized by Orticolario at Villa Erba in Cernobbio, Como.
The moon, the theme of the ninth edition of the competition, is represented within the installation by a reflective sphere—in which one can see one’s reflection, as in the most iconic moon landings—at the foot of a stretch of gray sand.
The planet Earth is depicted by a Corten steel flowerbed where, in addition to boxwood spheres, a multitude of white-flowering perennials symbolize the purity of the light reflected by the moon.
