Terrace of the Simples
The concept behind the project was to create a Mediterranean terrace rich in medicinal plants without sacrificing the pleasure of colorful flowers. Its name, “Terrazzo dei Semplici,” is in fact a reference to the very first collections of medicinal herbs. Rosemary, thyme, and oregano follow one another rhythmically along the entire perimeter, interspersed with perennial herbs and evergreen shrubs.
A Mediterranean-style screen designed primarily to provide privacy from outside views, while leaving an opening that offers a view of the sea. A flower bed that extends along three sides, all of which are visible at the same time thanks to the veranda’s large windows.
The blooms are mainly in shades of purple and blue, and the foliage creates interesting contrasts in texture.
