Sea-view penthouses
On terraces and penthouses facing the sea, potted plants have to tolerate salt and wind. Custom planters and light screening create shelter without closing off the view.
In Jesolo, gardens live between the sea and the lagoon: penthouses and terraces facing the beach, gardens in the pine woods, holiday homes lived in mostly in summer. We design outdoor spaces that stand up to sun, wind and salt air and stay in order all year round, following every project through to construction and maintenance.
Book a site visitJesolo stretches between the Adriatic and the northern lagoon of Venice. Many homes are apartments with terraces and penthouses on the seafront, others are villas set in the pine wood; almost all of them are lived in mainly in summer.
Gardens here face reflected sun, constant wind, salty air and sandy soil. That is why we start from hardy coastal and Mediterranean species, arrange the planting in layers and design gardens and terraces that need little water and little upkeep.
We follow projects in Jesolo from our Lignano Sabbiadoro studio, with site visits, our presence on site and a maintenance plan for the months when the house is closed.
Roberto Landello is a garden designer based in Lignano Sabbiadoro. From here we design and build gardens and terraces in Jesolo and along the Veneto coast as well, following every project in person: from the first site visit and the choice of plants to construction and maintenance.
Our work starts with plants. Roberto grew up in his family’s nursery in Lignano Sabbiadoro and trained at the Scuola Agraria del Parco di Monza; Luca, our technical lead, combines a background in construction with training in agronomy and arboriculture.
We know coastal gardens well: almost all of our projects are terraces and gardens by the sea. In 2017 our installation “Ciclicità lunare” won the Foglia d’Oro del Lago di Como award at Orticolario, and our projects have been featured in Gardenia, Casa in Fiore and Terrazzi e balconi.

Low-maintenance gardens, with irrigation where needed, for people who use the house mostly in summer.
Under the pines we choose plants for light shade, suited to the sandy soil, and design spaces that respect the existing trees.
Toward the lagoon, humidity and soil change: we choose species suited to brackish soils and build green screens against the wind.
What clients ask us most often before starting a project.
Yes, it’s a large part of our work as garden designers in Jesolo and along the coast: custom planters, plants that stand up to salt and wind, shade and automatic irrigation.
Coastal and Mediterranean species with small or leathery leaves that tolerate wind and salt spray. We arrange them in layers, so the toughest ones shelter the others.
With an automatic irrigation system and, if you like, our scheduled maintenance service throughout the year.
It depends on the building rules and on the work: planters and plants usually cause no problems, while shade structures and tall screens may need the approval of the owners’ assembly. We go over it at our first meeting.
With scheduled site visits, our presence on site at the key stages and maintenance throughout the year.
With a site visit: we look at the space and its exposure to sun and wind, listen to what you need and take measurements and photos for the preliminary design.
