Courtyards & historic gardens
In the palazzi of the center, greenery hides in courtyards, often shady and enclosed by high walls. We choose plants for shade and partial shade and work on texture, materials and proportions.
Padua is home to the oldest botanical garden in the world still on its original site, and greenery is part of the city’s history. We design custom gardens, courtyards and terraces in the city and in the Euganean Hills, with plants suited to the climate of the plain, and we follow each project through to construction.
Book a site visitPadua sits at the heart of the Veneto plain: foggy, damp winters, hot and muggy summers, soils that are often fertile but heavy. To the southwest rise the Euganean Hills, with different exposures and microclimates and a landscape of vineyards and villas.
A garden here has to offer shade and coolness in summer and stay tidy in winter. We choose plants that cope with humidity, work on drainage where the soil is compact and give the garden an evergreen structure that holds up all year.
We follow projects in Padua with scheduled site visits, our presence on site at the key stages and a maintenance plan.
Roberto Landello is a garden designer with studios in Lignano Sabbiadoro and Monza. We take on garden and terrace projects in Padua and its province as well, organizing the work in stages: site visit, design, our presence on site at the key moments and a long-term maintenance plan.
Our work starts with plants. Roberto grew up in his family’s nursery in Lignano Sabbiadoro and trained at the Scuola Agraria del Parco di Monza; Luca, our technical lead, combines a background in construction with training in agronomy and arboriculture.
We follow our projects in Veneto from the Lignano Sabbiadoro studio, with the same method we use close to home. In 2017 our installation “Ciclicità lunare” won the Foglia d’Oro del Lago di Como award at Orticolario, and our projects have been featured in Gardenia, Casa in Fiore and Terrazzi e balconi.

On Padua’s terraces the summer heat is intense. Custom planters, shade, hardy plants and automatic irrigation turn the terrace into an extra room.
The family home garden: paths, shady corners, places to spend time together and borders that change with the seasons.
In the hills the garden opens onto vineyards, woods and villas. We work with slopes, views and plants that tie the space to the landscape.
What clients ask us most often before starting a project.
Yes. In the courtyards of the historic center we choose plants for shade and partial shade and pay close attention to materials and proportions, so that a space you pass through becomes a place to stop.
By working on drainage and soil structure before planting, and by choosing species that tolerate compact, damp soils.
Yes, in the hills and in the areas around Padua, including the Riviera del Brenta.
We work as garden designers in Padua by organizing the work in stages: site visit, design, our presence on site at the key moments and scheduled maintenance.
Yes. We follow the build with site supervision, so that materials, details and plants match the design.
With a site visit: we look at the space, its exposure and the soil, listen to what you need and take measurements and photos for the preliminary design.
