Bergamo is divided between the Città Alta, the upper town on its hill, and the modern city on the plain, with the Pre-Alps behind. As garden designers in Bergamo we create custom gardens and terraces in the city, on the hills and toward the valleys, with plants suited to a cooler climate, and we follow each project from our Monza studio through to construction.

The setting

The Bergamo area changes a lot within a few kilometers: the plain to the south, the hills around the Città Alta, the valleys climbing toward the Orobie Pre-Alps. Winters are colder than in Milan, and summers are hot but breezier toward the mountains.

On the hills the design follows the slopes, with terracing and low walls, and works with the views. On the plain and toward the valleys we choose cold-hardy plants and give the garden a structure of evergreens that holds up all year.

Bergamo is close to our Monza studio: we handle site visits, construction and scheduled maintenance.

Garden designer in Bergamo

Roberto Landello is a garden designer with studios in Monza and Lignano Sabbiadoro. From our Monza studio we design and build gardens and terraces in Bergamo and its province too, following every project in person: from the first site visit and the choice of plants to construction and maintenance.

Our work starts with plants. Roberto grew up in his family’s nursery in Lignano Sabbiadoro and trained at the Scuola Agraria del Parco di Monza; Luca, our technical lead, combines a background in construction with training in agronomy and arboriculture.

Bergamo is a short distance from our Monza studio. In 2017 our installation “Ciclicità lunare” won the Foglia d’Oro del Lago di Como award at Orticolario, and our projects have been featured in Gardenia, Casa in Fiore and Terrazzi e balconi.

What we design

01 Slopes and views

Hillside gardens

On the hills around the Città Alta, gardens are laid out on sloping ground. Terracing, low walls and paths make them usable and open up views over the plain.

03 In the city

Terraces

Terraces and penthouses with custom planters, plants that withstand colder winters and screening for privacy.

02 Lower town and province

Home gardens

The garden around the house: shaded areas, places to spend time together, trees and borders that change with the seasons.

04 Pre-Alps

Valley gardens

Closer to the valleys the climate gets harsher: we choose hardy plants and work on the relationship between the garden and the mountains.

Services

Skills

01

Landscape Design

We design green spaces that bring continuity to daily life, creating natural settings where plants, pathways, materials, and proportions come together in a harmonious balance. The project does more than simply organize an outdoor space; it reveals its character and transforms it into a place to be enjoyed.
02

Terrace Design

We work with greenery, shade, privacy, views, and materials to create intimate and welcoming spaces, designed to bring nature even into the most urban settings and transform every outdoor area into an intimate and personal landscape.
03

Garden design

Through shapes, heights, blooms, textures, and seasonal variations, we create plant arrangements that evolve over time without losing their balance. Every botanical choice stems from the interplay of aesthetics, location, and care, so that the greenery can grow naturally, harmoniously, and sustainably.
04

Landscape Consulting

Consulting helps identify new possibilities, address issues, and make the most of what already exists, offering a clear vision of how to transform gardens and terraces into more harmonious, functional spaces that better reflect the way you want to experience them.
05

Project Management and Coordination

We oversee the work on-site by coordinating expertise, timelines, and tasks to ensure that materials, construction details, and plant elements accurately reflect the initial design concept.
06

Scheduled Maintenance

A garden continues to change even after it has been created. That is why ongoing care is an integral part of the project: it supports the growth of the plants, maintains the balance of the space, and allows the garden or terrace to retain its quality, form, and vitality season after season.
