Gardens
in Udine

  • Home gardens
  • Natural gardens
  • City terraces
  • Hillside gardens

In Udine and its province we design private gardens and terraces that follow the rhythm of the Friulian seasons. We start from the place, the house and the way you want to live outdoors, choose plants that stand up to cold and rain, and follow every project from our Lignano studio through to construction and maintenance.

Planting
on the plain

The setting

Udine has a more marked climate than people expect: cold, damp winters, heavy rain in spring and fall, hot summers. On the upper plain the soils are often gravelly and drain quickly, while toward the hills exposure and gradients change.

That is why we choose robust, well-adapted plants and give the garden a structure that holds up all year: trees and hedges for the framework, perennials and ornamental grasses for movement and color, evergreens for winter.

Every project starts with a site visit and follows our six-stage method, from concept to scheduled maintenance.

Garden designer in Udine

Roberto Landello is a garden designer based in Lignano Sabbiadoro. From here we design and build gardens and terraces in Udine and throughout its province, following every project in person: from the first site visit and the choice of plants to construction and maintenance.

Our work starts with plants. Roberto grew up in his family’s nursery in Lignano Sabbiadoro and trained at the Scuola Agraria del Parco di Monza; Luca, our technical lead, combines a background in construction with training in agronomy and arboriculture.

Udine is less than an hour from our studio, and we have already built a few gardens here. In 2017 our installation “Ciclicità lunare” won the Foglia d’Oro del Lago di Como award at Orticolario, and our projects have been featured in Gardenia, Casa in Fiore and Terrazzi e balconi.

What we design

01 In town and village

Home gardens

The garden around the house, large or small, is at the heart of our work in Udine. We design paths, shaded areas, places to spend time together and borders that change color with the seasons.

03 Up high

City terraces

In the center of Udine, greenery often lives in containers. We design terraces with custom planters, plants that cope with sun and cold, and privacy screening.

02 Perennials and grasses

Natural gardens

Plantings of perennials and ornamental grasses that recall wild meadows: beautiful to look at all year round, they need less water and less upkeep than a traditional garden.

04 Toward the hills

Hillside gardens

In the hills around Udine the garden is in conversation with vineyards and woodland. We work with slopes, views and plants that tie the space to the landscape.

Services

Skills

01

Landscape Design

We design green spaces that bring continuity to daily life, creating natural settings where plants, pathways, materials, and proportions come together in a harmonious balance. The project does more than simply organize an outdoor space; it reveals its character and transforms it into a place to be enjoyed.
02

Terrace Design

We work with greenery, shade, privacy, views, and materials to create intimate and welcoming spaces, designed to bring nature even into the most urban settings and transform every outdoor area into an intimate and personal landscape.
03

Garden design

Through shapes, heights, blooms, textures, and seasonal variations, we create plant arrangements that evolve over time without losing their balance. Every botanical choice stems from the interplay of aesthetics, location, and care, so that the greenery can grow naturally, harmoniously, and sustainably.
04

Landscape Consulting

Consulting helps identify new possibilities, address issues, and make the most of what already exists, offering a clear vision of how to transform gardens and terraces into more harmonious, functional spaces that better reflect the way you want to experience them.
05

Project Management and Coordination

We oversee the work on-site by coordinating expertise, timelines, and tasks to ensure that materials, construction details, and plant elements accurately reflect the initial design concept.
06

Scheduled Maintenance

A garden continues to change even after it has been created. That is why ongoing care is an integral part of the project: it supports the growth of the plants, maintains the balance of the space, and allows the garden or terrace to retain its quality, form, and vitality season after season.

Yes. We offer garden design in Udine and throughout the province, on the plain and in the hills. From our Lignano studio we can easily reach every area for site visits and construction.

Species that are robust against winter cold and rain, and suited to the soil in your garden. We often work with perennials and ornamental grasses, which grow well on the plain and need less water in summer.

Yes, through a landscape design consultation: we assess the garden, make the most of what works and propose how to change it, in stages if you prefer.

Yes. We follow construction with site supervision and coordination of the work, from preparing the soil to planting.

Plants establish best when planted in fall and spring. So it is worth starting the design a few months before the time you want to enjoy the garden.

With a site visit: we look at the space and its exposure, listen to what you need and take measurements and photos. That is where the preliminary design begins.
