Within a few dozen kilometers, Friuli Venezia Giulia goes from the lagoon and sandy beaches to the plain, and from the hills to the Karst. Each area has its own climate and soil: the sandy, brackish soils of the coast, the gravelly plain around Udine and Pordenone, the stone and the bora of Trieste.
For us, designing here means starting from these differences. We read the place during the site visit, choose plants that grow well in those conditions and shape spaces around the way they are actually lived in: the seaside house used in summer, the family garden on the plain, the terrace in town.
Being close also makes a difference once the garden is built. From our Lignano studio we can easily reach the whole region to follow construction and scheduled maintenance.
